How to write ₹ amounts in words
Indian financial documents — cheques, invoices, GST bills, court affidavits and government forms — require the amount in words using the Indian numbering system (lakh, crore) followed by “Rupees Only” or “Rupees and NN Paise Only” if there is a fractional part. This tool follows the standard convention used by Indian banks.
Examples
- 1000 → One Thousand Rupees Only
- 1,00,000 → One Lakh Rupees Only
- 1250.75 → One Thousand Two Hundred Fifty Rupees and Seventy Five Paise Only
