Why 100KB?
The 100KB cap shows up everywhere — from passport portals to college admission forms. It exists because back-end systems were designed when bandwidth was scarce, and updating the limit usually requires a multi-department sign-off no one wants. So the rule sticks, and you have to fit the document into a tiny envelope.
Most "compress PDF" tools simply pick a preset and hope. Digitol Tools takes a different approach: our Target Size mode runs a binary search over JPEG quality settings until the output PDF lands within 5% of your goal — usually well under 100KB on the first attempt.
How to compress a PDF to 100KB
- Click Open the Compressor above.
- Drop your PDF onto the upload zone.
- The 100KB preset is already selected — click Compress PDF.
- Download the result. If the file is text-heavy and stays above 100KB, try the Low Size preset.
Will my document still look good?
For typed documents — invoices, application forms, contracts — yes. Text remains crisp because we keep DPI high enough for screen and print at A4. Scanned colour photos compress most aggressively at this target; if perfect colour fidelity matters, try the 500KB target instead.
Privacy
Your file is processed entirely inside your browser using WebAssembly. Nothing is uploaded to any server. You can verify this by opening DevTools → Network tab and watching for outbound requests during compression — there are none.
